Series: Arrow Tactical: Wolf Trilogy

In the past, he was paid to protect me. Now, he’s being paid to marry me.

My first operation in the field, the marriage is a cover.

Damian Fisher is a CIA legend with a shaggy beard, chocolate curls, and deep blue eyes. As a teen, my girlfriends swooned in his presence.

I never expected to work with him as an equal. I’d bet he never expected it either.

But, my overprotective father is a powerful man and I wouldn’t put it past him to pull a stunt like this to protect his baby girl. Requesting my old bodyguard and his close friend to work by my side is right down Daddy Dearest’s alley.

But I no longer need protection. I worked hard to overcome the effects of the abduction. Someone played me like a pawn on a chessboard, and I’m dedicating my career to unveiling the players calling the shots.

Only lines blur when our relationship becomes all too real. Secrets from my past unfurl. Chaos erupts. In the end, it’s not just our mission on the line. It’s also our hearts and lives.

What am I willing to sacrifice to unravel the past and stay true to my mission?

Cloak of Red is a billionaire, forbidden romantic suspense, age gap, fake marriage romance between two CIA undercover officers. She's a billionaire heiress, and as a teen and college student, he was her bodyguard.

Cloak of Red is the third standalone romance in the Arrow Tactical Series and is part of the Wolf trilogy, a modern-day take on Little Red Riding Hood where her past intertwines with her present in a dangerous game of make-believe with the one man she can’t resist.

The stories are designed so that they can be read without reading prior books, but to ensure the absence of spoilers, it is recommended the trilogy be read in order.

EDITORIAL REVIEWS...

“So well written that you can’t help but be spellbound as the relationship of the two main characters becomes physically and emotionally charged. Each page is explicit in its eroticism and details of their physical relationship, but not in an offensive way. Graphic, yes, but powerful in its verbiage and descriptions of desire and love… Titillating (in a good way) and emotionally powerful…I highly recommend this realistic and forceful love story.” -International Review of Books

“This just might be my favorite book of the series!….suspenseful, emotional, and all kinds of hot.” - JennReadsRomance

“While the duo plays their roles and pulls us deeper into the suspense of the case, their feelings begin to become all too real. This adds that extra layer of suspense that makes your eyes fly faster and faster over the words because you want to see how it twists them up next. One of the BEST books I’ve read this year!” - Lynchburg Reads

Fisher and Sophia!!!!

I devoured this book! I will be honest in saying that I don’t normally love extended age gap stories, but Fisher and Sophia were everything. If you haven’t read the first 2 stories in the series, I do recommend that you read, as we meet a much younger Sophia and the trauma she went through. Fisher was her head of security, and watched the pain and struggle that she went through to push forward. Fisher is about 16 years older than Sophia—she is about to be 26 and he is 42. He left his post as her bodyguard years before when she went on to pursue a career in the FBI. Sophia is strong, brave, resilient, and light years more mature than her age. She has taken her past trauma and dedicated her life to catching the bad guys. Fisher has since pursued a career in the CIA—and is shocked to learn the new recruit who will be accompanying him in his next mission is Sophia, all grown up. I absolutely adored this couple. Yes, there is a wider age gap, but what truly worked for them was their shared history. Fisher understood her, and she already trusted him with her personal demons. Yes, Fisher tries fighting the attraction while they are undercover as a married couple, but he is blown away by the brilliance of Sophia. He truly is in awe of her and falls hard and fast. Sophia’s past crippled her ability to be intimate. It was a battle she thought she’d never win, but with Fisher, she felt alive and seen. She WANTED to be with him, she FELT it. She didn’t need to talk herself into it because it was so natural and real. There was so much love, so much swoon, and excellent spice. Bravo!

Undercover feelings

Cloak of Red is the third book in The Arrow Tactical Series. This is the story of Sophia and Fisher. You need to read the previous books to get a full understanding of the main characters in this book. Sophia is now an adult who had been working for the FBI as an analyst. But she wanted a change and that came when she was recruited by the CIA to work in the field, undercover. Her driving force now is to find out just who was behind her kidnapping years ago and help to bring down anyone that was involved, along with those that continue these things. When she is paired with Fisher, aka Damian, to pose as a married couple things will get interesting. Fisher is her father's best friend and was her bodyguard after she was rescued from her kidnapping. He may be older but he is a silver fox who puts the grrr in growl. There has always been a closeness between these two and the feelings that start to develop deeper add complications that were not foreseen. I really loved reading Sophia's story and seeing how she overcame her experience and dedicated herself to a very worthy cause. Fisher is a sexy man who cares deeply and may not want to cross a line but in the end the heart wants what it wants for these two.

Sophia and Fisher

After Sophia was kidnapped as a teen, she goes into the FBI. She now wants to be more hand on in the search for the drug and gun criminals and is recruited by the CIA. Her first case is undercover with her bodyguard from after she was rescued from being kidnapped. Fisher is almost twenty years older than Sophia but that doesn't stop his attraction to the grown-up Sophia. As they go undercover as a married couple, lines are blurred and they act on their mutual attraction. She's determined to find a connection to the the people behind her kidnapping and current criminals. As she gets closer to an answer, things get more dangerous. What will happen when she gets closer? What will happen to Sophia and Fisher's relationship - especially after her father finds out? I liked this book and all the twists.

Sophia and Fisher

Sophia and Fisher meets again and now they both work for CIA. Sophia meet Fisher as her security when she was in high school. He kept her safe until she graduated from college. Sophia was determined to find her mother's killer and who kidnapped her. (More detail story in book 2). Fisher is finally back and looking forward to new assignment. He never thought he would working together and playing married couple to Sophia. His feelings are conflicted but more he is working with her, he can't keep his attraction at bay. He is ready to take next step with Sophia and he will worry about Sophia's father's wrath later. This book has tons of action, romance, suspense, CIA mission, age gap and more. I would highly recommend to read book 2 to understand Sophia and Fisher's back story and his relationship with arrow tactical team where Sophia's father is heavily involved. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Amazing Intrigue!

Isabel Jolie's Cloak of Red is fascinating, full of intrigue, sexy times and romantic suspense! I loved Sophia and Fisher/Damien from the very beginning, their behavior and attitudes were in line with their assignments and not at all hollywood-esque. Sophia has just recently moved over from FBI analyst to CIA field work and has been teamed up with Fisher/Damien who it turns out she used to know from an earlier time in her life. I really enjoyed reading as she worked to get Gemma's phone number, and had to act as though she was in love with Fisher/Damien. I was on the edge of my seat as Fisher/Damien started spending more time with Gemma's husband Rafael in what could be considered dangerous skiing activities (heli-skiing?) Sophia's true reaction when Fisher/Damien got hurt is very indicative of how fast they're falling for each other, even though this is just supposed to be an assignment. Rafael is very much a playboy type of guy, and doesn’t seem to be attached to his fathers business, so it is becoming more and more uncomfortable for Sophia and Fisher/Damien when he is encouraging swinger-type behaviour, and neither of them are into that. Is Fisher/Damien hurting their cover every time he jerks Sophia up to hurry her back to their room when Gemma and Rafael start encouraging more sexually liberal activities? Cloak of Red comes quickly to a head when Sophia disappears on what is supposed to be some sort of surprise trip with Gemma, and neither the FBI, ARROW, or CIA trackers can locate her. As a result of occurrences in her past, the CIA has Fisher/Damien notify Sophia's father immediately that she is missing rather than wait, and her father sees through Fisher's facade and wants to beat the heck out of him. This, and the last few chapters were the only areas that felt slightly rushed to me. I need more of an answer as to what happens with Rafael and Gemma, and I'm very hopeful that this was just some kind of quicky cliffhanger and both couples will re-appear in Isabel Jolie's upcoming Novel, Stolen Beauty. What I do know is that I'll definitely be going through Ms. Jolie's backstock to find the beginning of Sophia's story! Her writing is riveting, and I definitely didn't need another book to avoid being lost here, I just feel the need to answer all the questions for my own sake! Plus, it's another opportunity to add more of her work to my TBR!
